Out of curiosity, I googled if I could find a certain Sarah Kemble. So I found two entries all right. Of course, this is only my conjecture. God knows the only one who knows Yana Toboso’s true inspiration is Yana.

A certain Sarah Kemble Knight was an American scrivener and a teacher. There was also a Fanny Kemble, who was a British actress during the Victorian era. Strange though that both of these women were later plantation owners, who were racist toward the slaves they owned, based on the journals they left. Sarah, specifically, had the lowest regard to Native Americans.

Now Snake being born in 1871, March 15th, was the year the German Empire was proclaimed. Southern German states like Baden, Württemberg, Bavaria, etc. joined the Northern Confederation to found the empire after the Franco-German war with Germany annexing Alsace-Lorraine to boot. No wonder the existence of half-timber houses is very promising in these areas.

Anyway, historical aside, Yana chose a momentous year for Snake.

Yet there are still many questions from whence he came from concerning his physical appearance and the way he was abandoned.

Y’know, I noticed something. Everyone’s going “That was Sebastian who got killed!” In Chapter 134, ‘cause of:

But I seem to remember that Sebastian wasn’t originally hit like that:

He clearly “died” on his front, not his back. But then…

…when it was time to resume the dying pose…

…Sebastian CHOSE to lie on his back.

He even chose a specific look for his “death.” And before you think this was solely for Earl Grey:

Sebastian says he “meant for it (the changed pose) to be a little revenge, BUT”- implying that the “revenge” he intends isn’t on Earl Grey.

So who was he getting revenge on? My bet is our other main character, Not-Ciel. I think the reason why Sebatian’s death pose looks similar to Vincent’s death pose is because Sebastian copied the look Vincent had upon his death. This would’ve been partially to tease Not-Ciel, and partially to ensure not-Ciel’s acting was 100% convincing; if the fake trauma mimics the real-life trauma from Not-Ciel’s past, then there’s a chance of it invoking some of that old trauma and provoking a genuine distraught emotional reaction.

Which would justify Ciel’s “unexpected” revenge:

While there’s still the mystery of why and how Sebastian knew what dead Vincent looked like, I don’t think this means Vincent is alive, or Vincent is Sebastian.

But then again, I could be wrong.

THE HEIR AND THE SPARE THEORY

Or Ciel may have had a twin but this guy isn’t him. It’s a clone. 

I’m sorry this is gonna be rambling but I’m pasting in my theory before I lose the thread of it again. 

These is evidence Ciel had a twin or at least an older brother. In those days the idea of “An Heir and a Spare” one child for the family line and one to take his place should tragedy or Dishonor ensue wasn’t exactly uncommon. In royalty it was common and the Phantomhives are Bastard Nobles. Claudia Phantomhive doesn’t seem to have been married, her husband has never been mentioned, and she was important enough to Undertaker for him to keep a momento mori of her.  In royal and noble families if they had multiple children, The First was the Heir to the fortune, the second took the Business, and third would take either Religious Studies or Schooling for something else. If both survived they’d have likely worked together with the eldest as The Queen’s Watchdog and his brother as The Head of Funtom Corporation. All that aside, this isn't his twin.

It would make sense for why he took blood and looked at Sebastian’s memories. He needed a frame of reference. 

My Theory based on what the 4 stars said and the fact one of them (I think Polaris) said that 

“It’s only a matter of time before the Blue Star Falls. And should that happen, my pride as a butler would not allow me to die without action.” 

Which is a really SEBASTIAN thing to say. Comparably though, their room is sparse and very much destroyed, almost as if they’re prone to fits of anger? Or perhaps they dislike being caged so. 

Aside from that, and I’m omitting some details to avoid spoilers, but there’s only two people who can move fast enough to surpass Agni in a fight. Sebastian (with difficulty) and Elizabeth who is a close second to Sebastian’s speed who could likely match Agni. 

I think the four are clones of Ciel, and three others and Lizzie is in on it because the end goal is for Undertaker to get his happy ever after, namely His Family Alive again and Revenge on the Queen. but I’ll go into detail on this later.

WAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

My headcanon and neutrality concerning 2CT, Undertaker, and Claudia just exploded. It huuuuuuuurts- I'm actually crying a little bit from the pressure~~~~ I was going through the manga for a good reference picture of William T. Spears for a practice picture, and along the way ran into a whole lotta stuff: CAMPANIA ARC I can never resist reading over that arc again and again- I just love it so much! The first chapter I clicked on was Sebastians Cinematic Record. So, there's the meeting, agreement of the contract, wonderful bits about how irritating Ciel is, and then we get to the manor- the graveyard scene. THERE ARE FOUR FRESHLY DUG GRAVES! The stones seen are for Ciel, Vincent and Rachel. But there was a fourth, unnamed one! It wasnt a border on the grave, as inspecting all others, THERE WERE NO MARKERS ON THE GRAVES ASIDE FROM THE HEADSTONES. It couldn't possibly be for a servant, nor a grandparent (getting to that later). Now, I'm not saying it's Ciels identical twin brother, but it's highly likely it was a sibling. So I finished freaking out about that, and read a little furthur. I came across Sebastians little speech- the one about 'Now you have it all- the status, the fortune, the beautiful fiancee,' amd found it, once again, odd to hear him say that. Im not saying it means anything, because I dont fully comprehend the Japanese mind and cultural diffrences and what it would think of when portraying a demon fresh from hell. So I count that as tedious and shakey evidence about anything. But I do find it strange. Alright, so I looked at the pictures, found them unsuitable, and moved onto the next scene that had William in it: the Emerald Witch arc. I love Sasha and Rudgar, so I decided to read all the scenes concerning them (as I always do). Two words: Family. Tree. Miss Claudia Phantomhive is her maiden name- she either did not take her husband's name or did not have one. She and one Cedric K. Ros- had Vincent Phantomhive. The rest of 'Ros-' was blocked out by the speech bubble, as was his birth and death years. Now, as to the matter that is wasnt a grandparent who was buried in the graveyard with them- Claudia's deathdate. She was born April 5th, 1830, and dies July 13th, 1866, leaving her dead at EXACTLY 33 years of age. Vincent was born on June 13th, 1851, and died on December 14th, 1885, leaving him at 34 years old. This successfully negates that it was Claudia who died with them. I highly doubt it was the grandfather, who was NOT a Phantomhive (stated that it was a family who had been doing this service for generations. That could technically be two, however, that would not account for the apparently strong attachment the Queen has to the position, what with having filled it with a twelve year old boy.). Now, to my next point: Ciels grandfather has a deathdate at all. Now, assuming that it was he who was the reaper (which we have every reason to believe, considering that the context it was presented in was about Ciels lineage allowing him to see Reapers), it could stand for the date of his suicide, or the date of his desertion. Now, we go back to the Weston College arc. Can I ask you all just one lousy question? Why would Undertaker have Claudia Phantomhive on his 'treasure,' his funeral locket? Why would Yana Toboso take the time to explicitly show it to us in such detail? For heaven's sake, I've seen speculation posts about /the meaning of the flowers/ on the locket. That is pretty damned detailed. I will leave you all to your thoughts with just one last statement: Undertaker isn't a real name. (BTW, I never did find a good reference picture of Will. Any help, guys? Im trying to do a greyscale sketch, and only have drawn him once.)

I have a theory

I often jump to conclusions about what will happen in Kuroshitsuji but shit son I think I might be onto something.

So what if Ciel had a brother? Close in age, maybe a twin? Either way he would look like him. Here's my reasoning:

I've been thinking about in chapter 90 when Ciel was saying that 'at least he had him' - some mysterious person around his age who was dragged out of the cage and presumably killed.

Next I noticed that in Toboso's art book there is a portrait of Ciel as a child holding hands with someone who has been burnt out of the frame. Then, rereading the Circus arc today and there are flashbacks from when Ciel was kidnapped of who we presume to be Ciel forced out of the cage and onto the pedestal, and one image even shows him dead.

Then I went to the Campania arc. I feel like I was pulling slightly at straws for this one but notice the graveyard. Most of the graves are understated but the Phantomhive graves are slightly more built up than the rest of them, identical only to each other and in a perfect row. There are four of them, one for Ciel, Vincent, Rachel and one other.

And finally, and before I found this one I wasn't going to say anything, but in Lizzy's flashback during the Campania arc there is a panel where Ciel is being scolded by Francis and at the edge of the panel Lizzy is sitting at a table with another child their age, who's upper body is covered by speech bubbles. It occurred to me that it could be Edward but the legs are too small, he'd be older than that I'm sure.

So yeah maybe I'm jumping to conclusions but I'm really excited about this brother theory.
