Trick or treat

The doorbell to the mansion rang, announcing their first trick-or-treater for the night. But the others had left just a few minutes ago! Kurt grinned to himself. Evan had already told him he’d be sneaking back around and pose as some other kid to get some of the full sized candy bars that beast was handing out.

“Kurt, could you get that?” came Hank’s call from the hallway. 

Kurt grinned, sliding down the stairwell railing and racing to the door. He tossed it open and, without even a moment to check if it even was his friend, lobbed a snickers bar as hard as he could at the person on the other side.

“Treat!”

“Trick!” Kurt cackled, dropping down from the ceiling with a large canvas bag - his collection bag for the nice - and flinging it over Lyn’s head. He skipped backwards, grinning triumphantly, and set his hands on his hips. 

His costume, that of a swashbuckling pirate, had obviously been put on with care. He could hardly wait.
