Man come the fuck on. I'll post or reblog something about disability justice and every single time an American will be like "and that's how it is in the US!" like. can we talk about our shared struggle for one second without making it about the states for FUCKS sake can you stop centering yourselves at every opportunity
fanfic that’s not fluff, not angst, but a secret third thing: kvetch. lowstakes scenes of characters comforting and energizing each other, not by sharing warm fuzzy feelings, but commiserating over their shared angst & suffering.

I have a new pet peeve, and its any kind of art video claiming to be a tutorial or how-to of some kind - usually its presented as some kind of hack of speed trick - except its not a tutorial or instructional video at all, its just a person doing the thing.
"how to take make a skull drawing into a face"
"How to draw a face in one minute"
"How to draw hands from any angle"
That is not a tutorial. You are not telling anyone how to do it, in fact its impossible in one minute to teach someone how to draw something complex in one minute, unless you do like Hillel HaZaken and say "here's your resources, go and learn"*. The person can only do the thing they are professing to teach or show you how to do because they have spent tens if not hundreds of hours learning how to do it.
"quick way to draw a face" look you did put in a handful of construction lines but you clearly have a strong understanding of facial anatomy and proportion and how skin and muscle interact with the bones and each other, you didnt learn that from your three construction lines and neither will anyone else who is watching. It suddenly clicked for me a couple weeks ago that none of these videos are tutorials, they are just people doing the thing that they have learned elsewhere with a lot of practise. Its really shitty. Youre just showing off. Youre not helping anyone, at least be honest with everyone about what your video is. Of course then you wouldnt get nearly as many clicks from people who want to learn how to draw - actually idk if this happens across other hobby-skills but im assuming it does? Its a very clout-chasing click-chasing duplicitous thing to do. Okay duplicitous is a little far maybe but its pissing me off. Just make a video and call it "drawing different hands in one minute". Stop telling me youre gonna teach me something and then you just do it. If you say youre gonna teach then teach!Teaching is a separate skill from knowing how to do something!!!!! ARGGHHHHHHHHHHH *and okay that isnt the moral of the story but i dont think what im saying is a misreading. and idk it sounded more dramatic than working out how to fit standing on one foot into my sentence.
ugh my pesky neighbors are always being kind and offering me food and things and trying to give me community when all I want is to be an unattached hermit
Some fun with Drac's kvetching about the food selection in the Bendy games. I think I've talked about this idea in the past, but...I could see Ericka and Drac having this conversation at one point. XD Drac's happy there's no longer just cans of bacon soup, but I think it being all junk would still kinda bug him judging by his main objection to human blood is it's fatty and you don't know where it's been. (He's also a dad and apparently the cook of the family, so...) Of course, Ericka again points out the obvious that The Cycle CLEARLY never had ANYONE'S health as it's focus.
Kinda fun to draw these two together in the Cycle! Drac probably rarely goes himself, as it's...not exactly HIS kind of place. But their mutually judgy married couple back and forth and him with a hand on her shoulder to protect her and so they don't get separated is cute. Not to mention, it calls back to Ericka's rants about Joey and his mismanagement while Drac just coolly watches and responds with his own judgement.
I also get to introduce another long-time idea I've had of Drac, in contrast to Bendy, finds the ink disgusting. (He probably would be wary of it ANYWAY, but I figure he ended up tasting it somehow, either while walking through or during a fight. Also, being a vamp, he's most likely more resistant to the corrupting influence of the ink than an animal or human anyway.)
Bonus: The fact Drac's original voice actor is Jewish (Sorry, Mr. Hull, You're good but Drac will always be voiced by Adam Sandler in my head.) and he himself and most of his family is Jewish coded makes this even funnier. Drac doesn't keep kosher as a vampire, as frogs, lizards, insects and blood - particularly animal blood - definitely isn't kosher. Neither is the way he hunts his food. But the "Not eating pork" thing does add a fun layer to his rant. It also calls back in a way to jokes about fellow jew Buddy Lewek having nothing to eat while working @ the studio besides bacon soup and that post about how modern vamps would get food comas eating today's humans.

I think my toddler-borne cold has turned into bronchitis thanks to my unsustainable work schedule and general stress level. So that's. Fun.
