this beautiful bastard
nothing in extracurricular turned out ok. absolutely nothing. mr lee died. the karaoke dude died. minhee is most likely dead. jisoo is also most likely dead. kitae is probably going to prison, him stabbing jisoo really didn’t help with that. gyuri is so fucked, she either leaves the country and we never see her again or she gets caught trying to help jisoo. mr cho is clueless. and the detective is too late as always.
yet it is still my all time favourite tv show.

⚠️ Spoilers!! ⚠️
hiii, i’m bored and can’t sleep so here’s another reaction/review! :> i just finished this K-Drama a few hours ago and i wish it had a few more episodes :<
okay, first of all, this is also one of the darkest K-Dramas i’ve ever watched! its full of smoking/vaping and swearing, it also shows the dark side of life and how far a person can go just to achieve the life they want.
at first, no one would really expect that Oji or Oh Jisoo would have that kind of business. its sad that he had no other choice but to do this kind of business because it pays bigger and he needed it for his college tuition. gosh i hate the part where Gyuri was chasing Oji’s father after stealing his money that he found in a *very* hard to open suitcase. It was so frustrating when he invested all the money somewhere sketchy.
i sympathize a lot with Gyuri’s character because of the heavy expectations her parents have on her and that they- especially her mom always expect her to do her best.. like, damn let the girl breathe. she’s always expected to look good or act a certain way so her parents won’t look bad, talk about narcissistic parents.
i also sympathize a lot with Oji because his dad, his only living parent, neglected him and chose to gamble instead, only coming back when he needs something from Oji or when he has some money to give to his son.
the last few episodes were so fast for me lmao, it also had an open ending so i’m kind of hoping for a second season? maybe? hahaha. it went from one event to the other with Kwakki finding out that his girlfriend had that kind of job to Gyuri leaving for Sydney with her one-way ticket and probably expecting Oji to come with her.
to be honest, i kind of like Oji and Gyuri’s friendship but i felt like they met at the wrong time? or maybe the fact that Oji’s always misunderstood because of him being the quiet kid in class caused him to be the class’ outcast and eventually meeting Gyuri because of the circumstances and him being invited to join the club, which had only one member. call me stoopid but i don’t think there was ever a hint that they’re already together during the last few episodes- not counting the times where Gyuri was saying Oji was her boyfriend when in fact, he’s not. i just think that they might have that type of love for each other but decide not to act upon it, except for that one scene where they were about to kiss but Gyuri decided to change the subject and talked about ambulances.
alsoooo, i can’t help but mention that i feel so sad for Minhee’s situation. i expected her to have an origin story because her character’s really interesting. i also can’t help but point out that Jung Da Bin plays her really well, especially the parts where she’s going through the trauma from one of her clients. i felt like i can see the emotion through her eyes.
welllll, that’s it! overall, i really liked this show and felt like i watched it way too fast lmao, i wasn’t even aware that i was at the second to the last episode earlier already, i was literally so shocked when i checked how many episodes i haven’t watched yet. this one’s actually really good and deserves the hype! i’ve been watching Kim Dong Hee in a lot of K-Drama’s lately and liked his character in Itaewon Class! which is another fan favorite.
ps. kwak kitae/nam yoon soo is so adorable ;-;
