Listen, I KNOW the takeaway from Kurosawa's Ran shouldn't be "Kyoami can go back and find Tsurumaru and then they can fall in love," but after those fantastic but utterly bleak two and a half hours (I think this film may be even darker than the original King Lear) I need someone to have a little bit of happiness, so if it's all the same to you I'm going to imagine them doing that anyway.
