Hey there Kyra, I was wondering if you could explain to me the difference between gay and bisexual. I haven't the foggiest clue when it comes to this sort of thing.

I dunno if I’m the best person to ask about this sort of thing, but I’ll go ahead and give it a shot. I’ve taken some Social Communications classes so I /kind of / have a leg to stand on. 

First off, gender does NOT EQUAL sex. Gender who you are, sex is who you’re choosing to be with. 

Secondly, gender and sexes are spectrums. There are people who identify as boys and there are people who identify as girls. Some identify in between, or something different from their birth assigned gender. There are also people who identify as homosexual and others as heterosexual. Some fall to one side, some are in the middle, and some wander up and down it. There’s even an asexual (no sex) spectrum! I fall on that one. 

Being gay is where you prefer the same gender as yourself, whether you identify as a boy or a girl. Bisexual is where you prefer both your gender and the opposite gender. Bi means 2. That’s how I remember it. 

Granted, these things get hairy when people don’t identify as one gender or another (specifically transgender) and that’s something that’s specific to each person, so getting to know someone and being comfortable asking about it with them is important. 

If you’re struggling with this personally, anon, I get it. It’s scary. The whole, “Oh god, I don’t think I’m straight,” thing is awful and it’s tough to go through. Granted, I’m Asexual, so it’s not like “Mom, Dad, I like girls,” but I did have to sit down and say that I don’t want to be in a relationship with anyone right now, and I don’t know if I’m going to be in a “normal” relationship. It’s tough admitting it to people, but it’s even more tough admitting it to yourself.

Sadly, I haven’t planned anything yet for my 2 year video yet. I’m still adjusting to my new job and trying to get full time/more hours there and I’ve been dealing with some other IRL things. I have some ideas, but I haven’t acted on anything yet. I have things planned for the future, but I can’t give anything away just yet. ;3 KDTs will resume once I find time and some new things are coming soon!
