do you hear LEGEND BY THE SCORE playing? oh, that must be KYRO LEE breezing by. i don’t know if you recognize them, but they look like CHARLES MELTON to me. i heard that HE has been in town for ONE YEAR, which is crazy considering they are THIRTY-THREE years old. yeah, they live over on OCEAN AVENUE, and i heard that they work as a SEMI-RETIRED PROFESSIONAL BOXER & CELEBRITY ( OUT OF TOWN ). i love that they remind me of HAND WRAPS TIGHTENING AROUND KNUCKLES, A MOUTHGUARD SNAPPING INTO PLACE, A SKYLINE VIEW FROM A LONELY HOTEL ROOM, THE WEIGHT OF A LAST NAME THAT ENTERS THE RING BEFORE HE DOES, A KILLER RIGHT HOOK SOFTENED BY A SUNSHINE SMILE, but … ugh, their playlist is so weird. why is AS WE MOVE ALONG in the queue?

the firstborn child and only son of a legendary heavyweight boxer, kwan lee, kyro was always expected to follow in his fathers footsteps. from a young age, kyro embraced the legacy that was already set up for him. unlike his peers, he never spent his childhood with the grace of being able to make mistakes and learn from them. he was in dimly lit gyms with his father, training hard, learning discipline, and becoming a skilled fighter.
his parents split when he was young, but they remained amicable. kyro was raised by his father and step-mother, and would often visit his mother on weekends where training would allow, and rotating holidays. while his mother has always been his rock, he adores his step-mother also. she quickly became a solid parent figure to him, and would often teach him how to cook traditional korean food. these moments gave him a sense of normality, teaching him skill beyond the ring. years later his younger sister would be born, and would teach him the true meaning of unconditional love. he often feels guilt over how much of her life he has missed out on due to work commitments.
boxing became his whole world. a rising name in the amateur world, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that he would make it. he grew into a talented and popular athlete, known not just for his strength, but for his kind and grounded nature. though school was always a struggle due to his focus being on the sport, he managed to graduate, despite the fact he couldn't envision a future for himself outside of the ring.
he soon stepped into his first professional fight, and won. this marked the beginning of a successful career, with victories and titles quickly mounting. still, no win ever felt like enough. he was constantly pushing himself to be better. to not just uphold his father’s legacy, but to surpass it. make one of his own. and he did just that. celebrity status was never something he asked for, but it seemed to come overnight. brands deals, magazine spreads, front covers, tv appearances, and even a cameo in a popular boxing movie as himself.
he was never sure he wanted any of it. however, when injury came in the form of a shoulder labrum tear, it at least gave him something to focus on whilst recovering from surgery. many doubted he would be the same after his comeback, but in true kyro fashion, he proved them wrong. he went from being named 'the legacy kid' to 'the legacy breaker'. kyro wasn't the only son of a legend, but he became known for beating not only other's golden prospects, but the legends themselves.
life was fully committed to the sport until the summer of '25. kyro would announce his semi-retirement, with the idea of only taking on big, high profitable fights. his next one is lined up for early january of '27. in the meantime, he's moved closer to family in the hopes of making up for lost time, and finally being able to feel settled within his own life.
he's most recently opened up a boxing academy in his fathers name, and hopes to provide those with a dream like his a safe place to learn. however, when your life has revolved around one thing for so long, fully walking away feels like an impossible task. kyro can't help but feel incomplete and unfulfilled.
what else doe he have to show for his life ?
