It’s bonfire night so this is officially the only song I’m allowed to listen to today (apart from BoA’s entire discography cos hey it’s her birthday 😂), STILL Laboum’s latest comeback Firework! (I’m not counting Smile Pop Pop as much as I love it so I’m feeling a little clowned by Global H saying their comeback was mid-October and it’s now November...). Honestly I hated this song at first, I do really like this latin sultry concept they’ve had since Yulhee left but this one felt a bit too empty to me, mainly in the chorus. The acoustic throughout is really nice but I felt like it could have had more momentum in the chorus, it didn’t really drop it just didn’t go anywhere 😂. While I still don’t absolutely love that part I just focus on the vocals now cos HUN THEY SLAY I feel like I say it every time but Soyeon’s high notes give me life I tell you 😂. And ofc my lovely ZN making me obsessed with her vocals even more idc if she’s a sub-vocalist she has my favourite voice along with Soyeon 😂. Part of the reason why she was my first bias 😂.

The video has quite a lack of fireworks and quite a lot of flowers... who thought that was a good idea 😂. I will give it that the lighting overall is very dark with specific lit areas like spotlights and the glow in the dark scaffolding (I think my GCSE Drama and Dance set and lighting questions are coming back to me...) so it kind of has the concept of a firework without being an actual firework 😂.
