ok honestly i'm quite behind on the pod recently Due To [long redacted noises] but man are albin and sol my Abstract Comfort Shape. guys who i can turn into whatever i want (what i want is the boringest home life full of so much love). theyre just. fuck. theyre so fucking lame and weird and kinda fuckups but then they just go home to their bestest friend in the whole wide world. and they can sit on their couch together and eat leftovers and watch their favorite game show on the cable network and decompress after a long day. guy who you will know the shape of for forever and the rest of your life. guy you can't imagine your life without /not-grand-romantically. i do think sol or albin could feasibly be in an outside relationship but their s.o. would have to accept the constant ghost of the other one as the secret third of their relationship. honestly i think it's lowkey interesting to kind of conceptualize. i don't think u could fully ever separate them. one of them in a long-term relationship with children maybe even and the other one as the weird (affectionate) uncle who lives in the house. or a long-term relationship where s.o. never moves in and they live separately and sol and albin are genuinely just roommates forever bc that's just The Deal. i just think. i don't know. i just think theyre so interesting. like they could go off on adventures and i think they in fact do exactly that post-epilogue and so theyre not Entirely Codependent, but like. they're maybe a little codependent. like not in a I Couldn't Bear To Live Without You kind of grand way, but in a My Life Has A Very You-Shaped Hole In It kind of way. god i wish i could expel everything i ever thought about them into just one post; it's impossible. theyre just home to each other. it's just tupperware and weeknight game shows and being chain restaurant regulars and combining the laundry and hey we're out of handsoap and the things they ripped from our childhood and pressing thighs on the couch while skimming paperwork and there's leftovers in the fridge and a dusty guitar on the wall by dustier comics in a box in the corner and sleeping in the same bed for a third of the year.

the thing about sol and albin is that they found true unconditional love and support in a place full of nothing but lies and completely conditional acceptance. and like that genuinely sets the tone for the rest of their relationship - it’s the two of them against the world, baby! of course albin’s ready to drop everything and follow sol into a revolution; their relationship is built off the understanding that they’ll have each other’s back even when everyone else is out to get them. and it’s not just that, it’s also the way that sol’s love and affection for albin never falters even as albin fumbles social interactions and constantly embarrasses himself by others standards; it’s the way that albin brings the entire revolution to follow sol across the continent; it’s the way that even after this first real stint of time spent completely apart they fall right back into watching each other’s backs bc they never truly stopped doing it. they’re just really important to me ok what do you want me to say

In where they have to deal with emotions. It's not a healthy sweet rooting tooth thingie, but a display of jealousy and passion. Do not eat the dobe, it's dead.
