so after learning that apparently the labryinth sequel is a thing that’s actually happening I’d like to throw my hat in right now and say that janelle monae is literally the only person I’ll accept as the new potential goblin king/queen.
also I want everyone making this movie to know that as a queer person who not only grew up with this movie but with a family that loves it too and quotes it at every turn, I’d rather EAT MY OWN HAND then EVER accept jared leto as the goblin king
ppl honestly think a straight person can play the goblin king????? HA!
#the only other option I'll also potentially accept is lady gaga#labryinth#labryinth 1986#labryinth sequel#these are just options ppl are speculating could play the goblin king btw not like actors who've actually been cast#just so I don't worry and/or excite anyone#but for real a cishet can NOT play that character if they want someone to play it akin to how bowie did#the inherent androgyny and just...aura of him as that character were all due to him being a queer person#and an artists at that#which makes janelle monae the pERFECT FIT FOR IT#I mean gaga's queer and creative too and still a good ballpark to shoot for#but janelle definitely has that bowie vibe that I think would be ideal#otherwise if they wanna cast a cishet dude then they gotta make up a whole different villian for that#and I'm fine with that#I'd much rather they do that then try to have leto or hozier or whoever try to emulate bowie#also another idea ppl were speculating is that jennifer come back and play the role#either as a brand new villian/character or as sarah who takes on the throne to try and bring peace to the goblin kingdoom#and I LOVE that idea that's a good one#really I just want a female villian/goblin queen bc no doubt either jennifer is going to reprise her role or it's a new actress#playing a new lead as the main character#purely for the potential gayness we'll get out of those interactions
