La Carretera by Mystery Modern Mark (2021). ✍︎ Named after the Spanish tune from Julio Iglesias, La Carretera is one of the latest releases from the house of @mysterymodernmark and I have to say I quite enjoy this one. It's Friday and its been quite the week so this was a solid choice for me to kick off the day #TGIF ◎ La Carretera opens fruity and citrusy thanks to the strong bergamot, blackcurrant, pineapple and apple notes. Pineapple and bergamot are the most prominent notes I detect though and the initial blast reminds me of the opening on Mancera's Cedrat Boise or Creed's Aventus. As it transitions into the heart the zingy accord lessens and an aromatic green accord takes center stage. The dry down is equally as inviting with ambergris, vanilla and musk providing a salty yet sensuous finish. Notes ☞︎︎︎ ☝︎ Bergamot, blackcurrant, pineapple, and apple ♡︎ Patchouli, rose, jasmine, and fir ☟︎︎︎ Musk, vanilla, and ambergris ◎ Performance is quite decent and this will certainly fetch you compliments. It does remind me a lot of the aforementioned fragrances thanks to the strong pineapple note but I do see subtle differences here and there thanks to the way it unfolds past the opening phase. ◎ I will be wearing this a lot for the next month or so as it is perfect for this time of the year.
