Time is the cheapest and yet the most precious thing we have, because due to time we have everything.

“Lāčplēsis”, the Latvian national epic, also tells the story of how man was created. Ever since I heard it while watching the rock opera based on the poem, I’ve found it fascinating.
In a few words, it goes like this: God created man from the earth with only one eye and one ear, two arms and legs, saying: you shall only see good, hear good, do good and walk only the good roads of life. But the Devil was like hell no (no pun intended) and gave man the other eye and the other ear, saying: you shall see evil, hear evil and do as much evil as you do good. So man woke up the next morning, both the most marvelous, good thing to exist and the most evil.
God got mad af and cursed the Devil and sent it to hell. The Devil wasn’t gonna accept that and thus started a war, by the end of which, mountains sunk, the sea covered most of the land etc. God of course won. But the demons and devils still until this day haven’t given up, they come up from hell trying to tempt and deprave mankind. Good thing we have Thunder a.k.a the strongest god in Latvian mythology, who fights evil and keeps us safe most of the time.
