Develop Your Non Dominant Hand...
Off hand skill development is key to be a successful lacrosse player at the higher levels of competition. Without equal balance right and left handed, players have a greatly reduced shot at being a high school starter or being selected to play for a NCAA Division I or Division III varsity college team.
Defensive players are taught to “home in” on players who are “all right” or “all left”, overplay their strong hand and limit their effectiveness dodging or getting in for a shot. Many turnovers are generated this way.
On the other hand, players that have a repertoire of direction changing dodges and develop an instinctive capability to change hands and shoot on the fly out of a dodge are going to score more goals, get more assists and play more.
Work right and left hand equally!
