Lady Deadpool: Chaos in the Multiverse by Jade Gretz
The streets of the city were quiet, an eerie calm settling over the landscape like a shroud. The sky above was a dull gray, heavy with the promise of rain, and the buildings around Lady Deadpool were dark, their windows like empty eyes staring down at her. She walked with purpose, her steps echoing in the silence, her senses alert to every sound, every shift in the shadows.
Wanda Wilson, better known as Lady Deadpool, was no stranger to danger. She had faced down hordes of enemies, battled the most twisted villains, and somehow managed to come out on top each time. But this was different. There was something about the stillness of the city, the way the shadows seemed to cling to the walls, that set her on edge.
And then there was the labyrinth.
She had heard the rumors—whispers in the underworld about a labyrinth that had appeared in the heart of the city, a place where the rules of reality didn’t seem to apply. It was said to be controlled by a mysterious and dangerous villain, someone with the power to bend the very fabric of space and time to their will. Those who entered the labyrinth rarely came out, and those who did were never the same.
But Lady Deadpool wasn’t one to back down from a challenge. If this labyrinth was as dangerous as they said, then there was only one place she needed to be—right in the middle of it.
She stopped at the entrance to an alleyway, the brick walls on either side covered in graffiti and grime. At the end of the alley, hidden from view, was the entrance to the labyrinth. It wasn’t much to look at—just a set of heavy wooden doors set into the ground, like the entrance to a cellar. But the air around it was thick with a strange energy, a kind of buzzing that set her nerves on edge.
Lady Deadpool took a deep breath, adjusted the twin katanas strapped to her back, and pushed open the doors. The hinges groaned in protest, the sound echoing down the dark passage that lay before her. She hesitated for only a moment before stepping inside, the doors swinging shut behind her with a finality that made her heart skip a beat.
