i can finally talk in peace .

i read about Elaine of Lancelot. Found a resemblance with tennyson's Lady of Shallot (yeah sources suggest a connection{read inspiration}). I'll quote my favorite lines from the poem which i consider poetic masterpiece:

A longdrawn carol, mournful, holy,

She chanted loudly, chanted lowly,

Till her eyes were darken'd wholly,

And her smooth face sharpen'd slowly,

       Turn'd to tower'd Camelot:

For ere she reach'd upon the tide

The first house by the water-side,

Singing in her song she died,

       The Lady of Shalott.

the lady of shallot (1850) 🕸 I’ve always loved The Lady of Shallot - the Holman Hunt and Waterhouse paintings, the poem by Tennyson; the beauty and the tragedy of the maiden in the tower, protected, preserved, and imprisoned from the pain but also the joy of the world below her - all while the dashing knight is unaware of her existence.
