the lady of shallot (1850) 🕸 I’ve always loved The Lady of Shallot - the Holman Hunt and Waterhouse paintings, the poem by Tennyson; the beauty and the tragedy of the maiden in the tower, protected, preserved, and imprisoned from the pain but also the joy of the world below her - all while the dashing knight is unaware of her existence. #marchmeetthemaker2020 – Art business: Last day - Wow, what a march this has been! My art business, like many others, have been impacted by covid19 changes. Murals and a number of other projects are on hold / cancelled. I am fortunate I work in a home studio and I already use digital technology for sharing and selling my art. Creating art and prices - I work in a range of sizes and mediums, the variety is good for my creative expression and it also means I can offer work at a range of prices which makes my art more accessible. Prices of original art are calculated largely based on time, materials and overheads. My mixed media art and drawings take less time to create than large paintings on canvas and this is reflected in my prices.    I sell paintings on canvas & paper, mixed media art pieces and drawings. I sell original artwork and reproductions as fine art prints. To make my art more accessible I now offer my mixed media pieces and drawings on selected products as well as selling as fine art prints.  Prices for fine art prints (and products) take into account the creation costs of the original art as well as final physical production costs. I work on commissions (specific requests to create pieces), these range in outcomes and include murals. For these, prices are calculated, agreed and contracts drawn up. Thank you for reading!
