As I've commented in the past on your stories, the way you write emotions resonates very deeply with me. It's so hard to pick a favourite!! As I went to refresh my memory ao3 was being a butt, however these three particular scenes standout in my mind.
(spoilers! and TW suicidal ideation, in case anyone hasn't read these stories)
in What Used to be Mine, the scene in the motel. The despair, resignation, and finality that rolls off of Dean. A very dark scene where all hope is lost. And even when Cas appears, the minute it takes to realize he's real. That minute he thought his brain was giving him a parting gift before sniffing out. It's a scene I feel in my chest, and brings tears to my eyes.
In Windows, when Cas leaves the bunker after (I think) a difficult convo with Sam. Castiel, who's an Angel, summoning a storm of thunder and lightning powered by the immense grief over Deans apparent death. Power emminating from his very being, manipulating the world around him, but he himself feeling powerless in the face of such loss. That whole story is absolutely wonderful but this scene lives rent free in my head.
Last (but never least) in Three Princes, the scene at the bow in the beginning. Just, both Cas and Dean in this. Dean believing in the conviction in Cas' eyes and the feel of the death grip on his arm. Believing and knowing deep down that Castiel can save him from his own life. Cas too, knowing he was there, at that moment in time, for a reason. For seeing Dean and knowing he's worth saving. There are many more moments that captivate me from this story. Its why it's my absolute favourite work from you
