RIVALI: find the hunters.

You finally managed to disentangle yourself from Siluri, and your shoulders drop in relief as you wend your way through the crowd, looking for a quieter corner. It’s not that you don’t want to socialize! But most of these trolls are at least four sweeps younger than you, if not more.

Granted, you spy a few adults, a few who seem to be even older than you, though it’s always difficult to gauge the sweeps with jade and above. You usually have to be closer to them and look for subtle signs of age.

A wine flute gets lifted from a table as you move onward, and you sip at it even though it’s not really your preferred kind of alcohol. You prefer port and other sweet vintages.

Eyes and ears searching, you finally see two trolls who may be even older than you are; a teal and a purpleblood. You casually walk over and raise your glass in acknowledgement, since both are higher than you, though one scarcely so. Then the teal stumbles forward in a manner you recognize as belonging to someone who’s been hitting the alcohol a bit overmuch. You reach out an arm to steady him, gripping his shoulder carefully but firmly.

“Are you quite all right, sir?”

Nah, but: I think my favorite troll of yours is Daginy. It’s maybe a little bit cliche to say so because they’re arguably your most developed troll, but that’s part of why I like them so much. They have layers and layers to them, and it’s interesting to dig up new things every time I hear about them!

Overall, I appreciate the fact that they’re very determined to go to some serious extremes to achieve their goals, and they’ve been through and achieved so much - but they’re also very nearly just a kid, really, and it shows, because they don’t know how to deal with being captured and tortured, with the fire, with even talking to their friends due to the paranoia that they’ve been leaning further and further into.

They have a lot of depth, and a lot of trash fires to put out, and I’m enjoying watching them a lot! I mentioned earlier, but I really love recovery stories.

Tl;dr: In which a plucky tealblood attempts to find concupiscent quadrants for herself and her clade before drone season arrives but is slowed by the confusing attentions of a local seadweller and the machinations of his best friend’s moirail; meanwhile, a rogue clown seduces the tealblood’s moirail’s auspistice with nefarious intent and the tealblood is courted in flush by a cerulean of comically haughty disposition, providing a reflection of the tealnlood’s own prejudice against her seadweller suitor, who is not (as she believed) flirting with her caliginously, but rather flushedly, though this will not be revealed until the end of the second act [insert another twenty lines of title here, i’m too tired to do it]
