I don't think I've actually seen anyone talk about it, so I decided to bring it up myself. Back when this episode released, I honestly thought Maverick could have been a good person (until the last frame when he looked ominous) Ig that means I'm easily manipulated, lol😭 (or at the time I was)

Anyways, turns out, Maverick was just manipulating our poor boy. And honestly?? It actually worked for a bit. Perhaps not as verbatim as it went with other cult members, but it did convince Ben to a degree

If they decided to trust Maverick without any other guidance, they would've definitely been trapped for much longer.
