It is hard to imagine a more saturated orange than the color seen in the flowers of Lampranthus aurantiacus; there is nothing subtle about this plant in flower! It belongs to the Ice Plant Family, Aizoaceae, and it comes from the west coast of South Africa, to the north of Cape Town.
