I really shouldn’t be drawing amidst all the work I need to get done but here’s a 40 minute color warmup anyways!! Can never have too much Trickyshipping, eh? I still stan by my thoughts from almost a year ago that Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask remind me so much of Lyra and Lance lol

Trickyshipping Week 2021 | Day 5: Dragon's Den 

Yay, this is the scene that made me start to ship Lance and Lyra! I always wondered why he gladly asked the protag to team up before he knew what was happening with Silver? Maybe it was out of spite for seeing them so close to Silver? 

HEADCANONS: This is based off my interpretation while playing because I was soOOOo happy to see Silver at the Dragon's Den after we don't get to run into him for awhile. He wasn't nearly as mean to the protag either? But damn, he was absolutely savage against Clair... I used to call him a ‘rat’tata when I was little because his pants reminded me of its colors. Had to throw in a bit of my Preciousmetalshipping too lolol. Did Ethan help Silver become a nicer, less edgy softie? Well... not too sure about that after he shoves Clair. Lance didn’t do sh!t about it either lmfao

Trickyshipping Week 2021 | Day 3: AU Ethan Becomes the Champion. How do Lance and Lyra Meet? 

After defeating Lance and Red, Ethan can finally spend time with Lyra again. Ethan invites Lance to meet Lyra and Marill, who's been working hard at her grandparents' day care center ever since he took off on his journey from New Bark Town. It’s a shame she isn’t used to meeting extravagantly dressed trainers like Lance, but Togepi can surely sense something growing between the two. In their first meeting, Lance had a difficult time taking his eyes off of Lyra, which made her terribly uncomfortable 😆 She is unsure of what to think towards the Dragon Prince Champion of Johto, who already has thousands of admirers chasing after him. What did Ethan think bringing him here to her family’s day care?!

I drew one of my favorite scenes from this story as a comic! I know that this scene is more serious in terms of Lance and Lyra talking about her old life in New Bark, but the imagery of this scene captivated me. I think this is one of the first times that Lance and Lyra have alone time together amidst all that is happening in Blackthorn! This was also a very fun way for me to practice incorporating water into my art lol

I interpreted how Prince Lance and Princess Clair may look based off of their descriptions with a few of my own creative twists. This style of coloring was very new to me and took a lot of time, but I think the result it beautifully worth it! I tried going for a medieval-storybook vibe lol.
