The Sound,
A warm Saturday filled with beautiful energy, the sweetest sounds of music and incredibly lively people is the kind of Saturday i love to exist within.
The bands were killing it for hours on end at St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival Brisbane, under the exact same concept that we were killing ourselves. Head banging in mosh pits, running from stage to stage, drowning in the sweat from others more than ourselves; it’s all apart of the festival experience.
Methyl Ethel kick started the day with their dreamy guitar tones in the midday sun, moving forward to the DMA’s jam-packed set, covered in sweat got our feet moving in the little space provided. Shamir’s sweet voice and disco-like tunes attracted an amazing crowd full of electricity. The Internet put on an incredible performance, with-standing the heat right before Hermitude really brought the heat and the beat. FIDLAR and Violent Soho had everyone craving the rave, and head banging their hearts out. Grimes, Chvrches and Flume ended the day extraordinarily.
Days like these are memories kept forever, nothing can beat it. Repetitively the songs and the sets replay in your mind for days to come and bragging rights are abused for the coming weeks. Sharing the experience with new and old friends only creates a particular level of mutual affection…
…Until next year.
