Langes messer. Finally finished this piece.. Slightly recurved messer sword, forge from Spring steel, hardened and sharpened. Handle is made from walnut tree, with grove for better grip and brass tube pins. I will be adding this to my Etsy Shop soon. Landsknecht Emporium

Landsknecht Emporium added a new photo.

“For quite some time, we wanted to make something that's more closely related to Landsknechts than our current models, but we are still way too deep in love with Messers to make much of anything else for a while. The obvious solution to this problem is taking a Kriegsmesser from a woodcut showing these well-dressed gentlemen and making that. Thrice. Meet the M5A "Ahren" Kriegsmesser. The three pieces are very close together as far a size is concerned, the largest visible difference is that one has a straight Nagel with 5 fullers while the other two's Nagels are curved to varying degrees and sport 6 fullers each. Grips are affixed by wooden pegs and are covered with vegetable-tanned goat leather, ebonized with iron acetate. One of the three has a hidden tang under the leather, while the other two has full-width tangs. Finials on the quillons are made from hollow brass spheres with the steel peened over them on the outside.

All three are in stock and are available at 1200 EUR+ shipping/piece. We thoroughly enjoyed making these, so if there's enough demand, we'd be more than willing to make these into a production model.”

These would likely be used in a fashion similar to a longsword.
