In my ceramics class I teach a whole section on Moche indigenous Peruvian ceramics. They were well-known for their individual and realistic portrait pottery that had a signature stirrup-shaped spout. Today I went to the Larco Museum in Miraflores Lima and saw the collection of the archeologist who first really explored this fascinating people. This was an incredibly cool experience. We'd missed the Erotic gallery the last time we were at the Larco museum so I was keen to go see it this time round.

  This part of the museum is full of erotic archaeological ceramic pots portraying a number of sexual positions. As I mentioned before, it is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Peru! So interesting ( and a bit disturbing).  Can you believe some of these were made 200 years before Christ!

  We then had a quick stop over at a local market which had nothing we hadn't already seen before... Not nearly as nice as the others I've mentioned on our trip. Mom, however, managed to buy some gorgeous silver teaspoons that she apparently "needed" : P
