That is one badass fucking chess set. I don’t think that it’s an age thing, thinking about those things. I think it’s just something that people think about from time to time, and that certain things will trigger it. I would think about life and various things often when I was in Chicago, but it wasn’t usually happy things. How are those kids of yours? Probably huge since the last time I saw them.

Well considering it’s been a year since we last spoke and longer since you’ve seen my children, one of which you’ve never met, yeah i’d say they would be.

Well, if I’m the sort that wouldn’t turn a good drink down, the only problem is that I happen to be stuck in Chicago for the evening and likely this weekend. Not that I want to be. I haven’t visited Dublin yet. I’m guessing you’re from Ireland?

What’s got you stuck in Chicago? ‘Stuck’ means it can’t be good. I was born American, sound like a Scots and work in Ireland so I’m a dreaded mix of unintelligible accents. I did not live in the US long so I can’t really call it home. I like to go out after work, I don’t tend to have much time when I’m home, so it’s usually Dublin I end up in. How have you managed to not visit it when it’s so easily reachable these days?

Now I’m going to have to have you watch some random other shit so that you’re happier afterwards. We can watch something stupid and funny. Comedy’s a good thing to offset watching the end of that show.

Even if I knew that do you think I could stay away? I mean, c’mon ... Hopper. The Hopper/Eleven dynamic is my favorite and I will suffer.

You know what’s the best? TikTok cringe compilations, jussayin’. Always good for a laugh, always good for the painful realization of what is surrounding us. Or The Hot Chick, ‘cause Rob Schneider just gets me.

Bro, I dunno what a PD day is, but my ass is always up for a beer or two.

We’ll just approach it as a day I get paid to not have to do as much as other teachers, we’ll say. It’s geared more towards teachers who teach very specific levels in elementary, but since I teach Kindergarten it’s a little easier on my end.

A beer or two it is, though!
