There were 2 key events that should have sealed any lingering thoughts people had about Harry & Louis being a couple. One was obviously Freddie but the other was the death of Louis' mum & how Eleanor (who had clearly been close to Jay) came back into his life again - he didn't 'need her for publicity', he was brokenhearted & it was clear they grew close again through that mutual loss & frankly, that is very moving. Always surprised larries didn't just wave the white flag after that.

I agree, not least because Freddie started my doubts and Jay’s passing and Eleanor subsequently coming back into Louis’ life sealed them and made me come to my senses. It is very bittersweet that the tragedy brought Eleanor and Louis back together but it’s so lovely she was there for him and they found each other again.

It does make me feel a sense of dread because I know if Larries could get past that stuff then like there’s no hope for another mass exodus. Another major event would have to bring that. But if they can convince themselves a 6 year old child has a fake name and a fake father then they are really really far gone. I also think new Larries are only able to buy into it because they didn’t live through it and just see all these Larries still around and accept their version of events. But I’ve also heard of a lotttt of them leaving pretty soon after they realise how fucked up it is, so that is promising. But as for Larries still around…. Idk they are more deluded and unhinged than ever. They are like cornered animals the more downbeat they get the more vicious they become and the more determined to plunge on with their conspiracies regardless.

I was in larry fandom for a little more than a year, even though I was more like a shipper than a tinhat.

What stopped me from being a tinhat was my inability to buy the whole The Powers That Be control those people personal lives.

And especially, the larrie theories that are trying to explain the past year, are so...I just read a post, and my only explanation for how people are able to believe this kind of nonsense is because they are the kind of people who would let the others control their life.   

It is plausible for a tinhat to think that Louis hasn’t got much control over his life, because they don’t have much control over their own life.

So, for them is plausible that a powerful Simon Cowell would force them to fake having a child.

Thank you for your answer and for linking to your thoughts on larries’ reactions to Harry vs Louis with girlfriends. It’s really hard for me to understand as a newer fan how they can explain away so much of what Louis has said and done—like that phone call of him saying he can’t stand the larry stuff, I sent an ask to a larrie asking how that’s been “debunked” because they said it had, and they don’t even have an explanation! They said “I don’t really remember, I think it was fake.” But I heard it and it doesn’t sound fake to me! But then they so easily believe the stupidest “receipts” or fan theories. I also don’t understand their motive behind aggressively trying to out two men they believe are closeted, if their careers depend on them being seen as straight then how could a fan justify trying to out them? It’s so frustrating to me because fandom would be much more fun for everyone if they would go away. Sorry to go on and on about stuff that’s probably old to you, but thank you again :)

You're taking a thoroughly logical journey here, and I'm sad to say it will just continue to frustrate you because yes, we've been asking those questions and making those points for years. CTs do be that way.

And no, the call with Louis hasn't been debunked, but as you see, it doesn't matter that it hasn't. There's no evidence that a birth certificate or obituary has been faked, either. No evidence of the kinds of contracts being cited to create these sorts of situations. No evidence a child is being deepfaked. Doesn't matter.

I noticed in that Lorna post that Larries are moving on to blaming BMG for the evil closeting of Louis. As if he would have signed yet another illegal contract specifying that he fake fatherhood! The Larrie version of Louis really is a hopeless sap who doesn't know his own human rights - very different from the real Louis who is smart and savvy.

Yuppp. When I was a Larrie I remember everyone saying that 2015 was gonna be the year of coming out, Irving azoff was going to save us all 😅😅 1D would no longer be trapped by the 1D contacts they had made when they were young and impressionable blah blah. Larries constantly shift the goalposts and honestly just tell constant contradictory lies. Eg,

- It was Harry and Louis’ 1D contacts that closeted them that they signed when they were young. They’d sign new contracts and would be free and they would never sign such a contract again. / Harry and Louis have signed new contracts with new management who are also participating in this illegal closeting because of reasons.

- Louis wasn’t talking about or being seen with Freddie because he’s doing the bare minimum and the plan is to phase babygate out. / Louis is now being seen with and posting about Freddie because they are ramping up babygate before they end it.

-Harry’s doing dwd as part of a stunt involving Olivia to boost his straight image as this is all that matters to his team./ Harrys doing my policeman because he’s allowed to explore his queerness because his teams ok with that but Louis’ isn’t, again because of reasons.

See where I’m going with this? They just make up new shit all the time then have the audacity to snap at any fellow Larries who question things and insist ✨it’s all going to plan✨

I think the funniest thing is when larries fight with other larries or ‘rads’ or whatever names they have for other deranged people . Because it’s always those ‘og’ larries telling others ‘this is not real life get a job do something you are weird ‘ …..hello have you ever used a mirror 😭 Like they pick and chose what’s suppose to be deep or not in the fandom based on how popular they are on how they feel that day and if you don’t agree or just have other weird takes that are not the same they’ll be like ‘get a job’ bc they assume that person is young or jobless 💀THE SAME FANDOM WHO TRACKED BRIANAS PERIOD CALLING ANYONE JOBLESS ???
