@lartenluver I’M SHOOK. Okay but seriously this is one of my favorite things about fma, the parallels between Ed and Roy and how they impact how they see  each other. But anyway, the whole ‘hands weren’t meant to kill’ line kills me. Because Ed says it to Winry, and it’s true, but the way he says it implies that Ed thinks his own hands are meant to destroy, most certainly because of his alchemy. I mean, that’s basically what state alchemists have been known for since the Ishvalan War. Like.....this poor kid....he’s a genuinely kind person trying his best and even then his guilt won’t allow him to acknowledge that. Same with Roy like wtf he’s done a lot worse than Ed and has done things a hella lot more unforgivable and has hurt and killed so many people against his wishes, but his entire life since then has been dedicated to atoning to that, and even then Roy still sees himself as a monster, noting that he only really feels human when he’s fighting real monsters. Honest to God, these two have me so shook. Sorry.. . .. I just.....have a lot of emotions about Ed and Roy and fma in general

Yeah, that's how I interpreted it? Staying doesn't seem to fit with Tholomyes character at all. But if that's the case... how is Cosette three years old? Is Fantine lying? Is she passing off a like, four-month-old baby as a three-year-old? Does Victor Hugo not understand how babies work?
