Chapter 22 [Key-chain]

Peridot walked by herself to class. Boring, boring school… “Oh, I love your keychain!” A high-pitched voice squealed behind her. Peridot quickly turned around to see who that voice was coming from. Lapis Lazuli, that one girl who always cared way too much in Marine Biology. Peridot looked down at her backpack and saw what Lapis was talking about. Her grandmom had given her a tiny green dolphin keychain for her birthday, and her mom guilt-tripped her into wearing it. You basically have to use everything your grandma gave you… “Oh, thanks.” She said, looking up. “It’s so cute!” Lapis smiled, still staring at it. Her eyes where wide and sparkley. “You can have it, if you want… I don’t really care..” Peridot shrugged, unhooking it from her backpack. “Oh, are you sure?” Lapis asked, not wanting to be rude. “Go ahead,” Peridot nodded, holding it out for Lapis. It would be an easy way to get rid of it and say she lost it. “Oh, thank you.” Lapis said, smiling at Peridot. “Sorry for sounding like a kid.” “Nah, it’s cool. Have fun with it, I guess.” Peridot shrugged, walking off to her class again. Peridot’s day ended like every other day, and the next day started as normal as always, too. But unlike all days, there was a gift in her locker. It was a little glow-in-the-dark tiny laptop-design keychain, with a note tapped to it: Hope you like it! Thanks for the dolphin. I know u like ur laptop, so I hope u like the keychain -Lapis
