out of context thing I wrote today
“Look, I don’t care about what you do in your personal life,” he continued, deadpan. “That’s your business. The fact remains that I got outvoted, and you’re on the team now. I let my first impression of you cloud my judgement.”
The expression on his face made it clear he thought that judgement was correct. My face burned.
Blurb for my WIP, follow for more :)
Genre/Vibes: Contemporary YA, Sports Romance, She's the Man but with e-sports.
It's hard not to feel like a loser when you're the mediocre middle child in a family of prodigies. Cameron Day's only escape is the video game League of Champions, where she dominates the solo-queue leaderboards. So when a spot opens up on a rising e-sports team and the team's manager mistakes her for a guy, Cam doesn’t correct him. Not when this could be her one shot at making something of her life. To the rest of the world, Cam is a surprise pick. To the team, she’s a question mark. But to Jacob—their ruthless (and distractingly hot) captain who’s already seen one ex-teammate implode under pressure—she’s a risk they can’t afford. If she cracks, they all go down with her. The only way forward is to prove she’s not a liability, but the key to pulling them out of freefall. And she’ll have to do it under a spotlight she’s spent her whole life avoiding.
Scheduled for release around mid 2026! I'm doing my best guys.
i had completely forgotten i wrote this scene and omg i love it so much
excerpt from my e-sports romance novel, Last Pick.
“Maybe you should have taken Hunter along with you. The man can charm anyone,” I said. Jacob scowled, glancing back at the others. Hunter was narrating some story, to which Charlie was cracking up. “Yeah, that’s the problem. He doesn’t know when to turn it off. Dumbass.” “Of course, emotions are way too inefficient,” I said sarcastically. “Sometimes.” He looked at me intently. I grinned like it didn’t do anything to me, even though my heart still tripped over itself every single time. You’d think I’d be used to the way he looked at people by now. It probably didn’t mean anything. I kept telling myself this, because neither of us were prepared for the complications if it did. A slow, sly smirk brightened his features, and my heart thumped again. Damnit.

“Sure, sure. Hey, watch yourself out there in LA, kiddo. Don’t let anyone talk you into doing drugs.”
“I’m sure my biggest problem isn’t going to be people trying to give me free drugs,” I said. “But I’ll do my best.”
“You never know,” he said, and went back to scrolling on his phone.
you've heard of bad boy love interest who is only nice to the female protagonist...but are you ready for wholesome dude who gets along with everyone except the unhinged goblin female lead?
character moodboard: Shane Castro
