Destiny 2: Amethyst Expanse
Funnily enough, the four encounter problems in the Last Wish raid on Friday were:
1. touching the murder taken balls
2. turning the platforms while people are on them
3. Having all of us crammed in one point that we couldn't cheese Riven properly
4. The running continues, please, for the love of fuck, keep running!
I know this challenge is four years old but my clan’s been having a lot of issues getting it and I’m sure there’s SOMEONE out there still having trouble with it as well, so here’s some tips for Shuro Chi’s “Which Witch” challenge in the Last Wish raid. it seems very straightforward, “just don’t get hit!”, but after a LOT of banging our foreheads against her trying to get it we’ve figured out a lot of things i haven’t found any guides mention
The challenge is failed if her projectile attack hits you. Any other attacks, like her shooting you upwards or screaming at you, do not count, but they do put you in line of sight for her projectile, so it’s still best practice to avoid them.
If the projectile lands on the floor it lingers, and if you step on it, the challenge is counted as failed. Watch the floor for her projectiles. They look like little black bolts. We’re also fairly certain there’s a small AOE effect around the bolt that will fail the challenge, so keep a wide berth of them if you can help it.
A number of things count as “you” for the purpose of the challenge, and this is the tricky part. If any of these things are hit, the challenge is failed. These include: titan barricades, warlock rifts, any sort of lingering grenade or melee (trip mines, smoke bombs, etc), telesto bolts OF ALL THINGS, and any sort of lingering super (nova bombs, tethers, bubbles, wells, etc). If you are going to use lingering supers, use them for DPS only.
A noteable exception to the last point is stasis effects. I think they must be programmed different in the game, but for whatever reason, stasis crystals and walls SEEM to be safe. Use them at your discretion.
Similar to that, the sentinel shield super in guard mode also appears to be safe, but be cautious.
There are a few theories about this challenge that we haven’t been able to figure out which one is true. One is that you can be hit ONCE by her projectile and it won’t count. Another is that one person is picked at random that can be hit and they won’t count. And the third is that one person is picked at random, and when they get hit, someone else is picked. None of these are going to help with the run so don’t count on them, but whatever the actual case is, it makes it feel REALLY random when you fail or don’t fail the challenge, especially when combined with the previous points, so I thought it worth mentioning. Point being, sometimes someone will get hit or step on the projectile and it won’t fail, and we don’t really know why. This game functions.
At the beginning of the stage, stay out of the doorway/her line of vision until she teleports to her platform.
Hug corners, stay behind walls, avoid gaps, and do not get in her line of sight if at all possible until it is time for DPS. When it says her tempo quickens, you’re safe to move towards her.
She shoots around corners in the puzzle rooms, so do not cross the doorway and do not stand on the side of the room she can see into until she’s gone.
I am genuinely convinced that most people that have this challenge done have just gotten lucky and no one actually has a full grasp on how this one works. It seems to be a lot of random chance and there also seems to be a lot of bugs. If you find yourself frustrated, ask your team for a break, because they’re probably also tilting and could use one as well. You might get lucky and get it first go, and you may be like our team and be three or four sessions in to trying for it and still failing because information is scarce.
Even more last wish screenshots!
it just occurred to me that the forsaken campaign is going into the dcv in february. and i haven't done the last wish raid yet.
uugh. i need to do that before it vanishes.
I'm new to the game and I have a question about the wishes in the Last Wish raid (which I completed for the first time last night, whoo!). from what I gathered, wish 15 is the raid itself (The Last Wish + 14 wall wishes = 15), but the group I was with was adamant that's not the case. Am I totally off base? I'm still doing a lot of reading and digging and trying to piece together what's going on with the story of the dreaming city and I wouldn't be surprised if I am, but I thought I'd ask anyways 😅
Wish 15 is currently an enigma! It allegedly exists but no wish wall combination for it has ever been found. It's pretty safe to assume there isn't anything for that currently because the dataminers would've found something by now.
It's unclear what Wish 15 refers to. It could be the raid itself or the wish we as players made to kill Riven or a million other things. It could also be a nefarious ruse. A lot of the stuff surrounding the Dreaming City and Riven was riddled with false flags and baits in lore and elsewhere because Savathun loves messing with us. And so do the Ahamkara.
Honestly, you're not any further away from guessing what's Wish 15 than anyone else. And also congrats on beating the raid for the first time!
So.
So about Riven.
That bitch is LORGE.
I dropped down the well that has you go flying by her face?
Yeah I yelped. Jumped in my seat. ngl that got me.
was doing last wish and everyone stood for a portrait outside of morgeth
