Arrow + Lauriver Appreciation Week + Day 5: A Sad Moment

“I would give anything to- to go back. Yeah...But we can’t go back.“

This was one of the moment painful moments for me to watch between this pairing. They are both dealing with sorrow over the loss of their best friend and loved one, Tommy, although while still wanting to hold onto one another. At the moment they hug Oliver wraps his hand around to the base of her neck and lifts it to caresses her hair in his fingers while showing the difficulty of losing Laurel’s touch. This is the moment where Laurel had to let Oliver go whilst going through stages of grief - the pain, heartbreak, guilt and suffering. To isolate herself from the love of her life she parted her ways with him and their end scene in ‘The City of Heroes’ displays a conversation of Oliver understanding why him and Laurel can’t be together, but that he still needs her in his life.
