We had close to zero sleep the morning we left for La Union. We spent most of the day napping in a hut. Then we went to El Union to get coffee. Kean talked about how he liked the grilled cheese sandwich.

Flotsam is always fully booked in the peak season. But since our anniversary fell on an off-peak season, we managed to book the best room.

We got to La Union at around 6am on our 2nd anniversary. It was nice and cold in December.

For our second anniversary last December 2018, we drove to La Union and spent the night there, drove back to Manila in the morning, then flew to Palawan, all in one weekend. We spent the night back in Manila at a hotel because we missed our flight to Palawan. Our airline was kind enough to replace our tickets and give us a free night’s stay.
Kean isn’t a fan of the beach. I, on the other hand, missed it terribly. We ended up going to two, because I’m boss (jk), and because I’m the one who likes to plan these things anyway.
There weren’t a lot of people when we went. Different from the LU I was used to. I didn’t get to show Kean how nice the nightlife there can be. Instead, it was quiet, cold, and peaceful - charming in its own way.
