I went to this nature adventure last Thursday. Booked this trip a few weeks ago. I wanted to go somewhere for the holy week. Originally, my plan was to just go on a staycation and book a place via airbnb. But then while looking for other places to visit, I found this nature reserve and immediately booked. I figured most people would go to the beach and it would be pretty crowded so I opted to go on a nature adventure instead.
Getting there wasn’t that easy, I had to transfer tons of times since there is no direct trip. One thing I love about solo travel is the spontaneity it brings. Some things just don’t go out as planned even if you have prepared for it. I had to ride 2 jeepneys and 3 tricycles just to be able to get there. But it was definitely worth it. The place was so relaxing and it was just beautiful.
I availed of their overnight package worth 2,000 pesos. It already includes the hostel type of accommodation, dinner, breakfast, and lunch plus access to their amenities.
Their hostel can accommodate up to 20pax. They have bunk beds and matresses available. During my stay there were only six of us. It’s very comfortable and it’s not really hot since it’s in the mountains. It rained that night and we didn’t have to use the fans as it was cold and windy. Gazebos, hammocks and cabanas were located everywhere too and they are free to use for you to relax and just chill. I was actually reading a book in one the cabanas and fell asleep.
If I have to choose my favorite area, one of it would probably be Loli’s kitchen. Because I am where the food is. Lol. Hahaha. Kidding aside. They do have a specific time for meals and it’s served in a buffet style. They do serve good food and everything I had was so delicious. The meal that I enjoyed the most would probably be the lunch. It was amazing. Don’t worry about not being able to get enough food because they do replenish it from time to time. You can bring light snakcs but they do not really encourage people to bring food.
It was indeed a very relaxing trip. It’s a perfect place if you just want to get away from the busy city and unwind or just clear your head. You can actually go on a hike or go rapelling. It’s kid friendly and a lot of families go visit there too. They do not have wifi or signal there so you really get to disconnect to the outside world. The cabins and casitas were all booked but it still feels that you have the place all to yourself. It was quiet and you can hear the birds chirping and the sound of the ind blowing.
How to get there:
From Katipunan / Cubao: ride a jeep or van going to Cogeo tell the driver to drop you of at Cogeo, Gate 2
Take a jeep to Calawis (last trip is at 9:30am) / After 9:30am take a jeep going to Paenaan and ask to be dropped off at Kanto Veterans
Take a trcicyle to Arko Calawis
Take another tricyle and ask to be brought to Mount Purro Nature Reserve
This is the easiest way to get there. I did have quite of a struggle but if you follow this you won’t have a hard time getting there. For bookings and other information you may visit their website.

It was a quick but enlightening trip that we had planned and confirmed at the last minute. Just the two of us, an old college friend that somehow formed a bond similar to family. Â Our trip consisted of drinking beer, watching the stars by the bon fire and waking up super early to do a two hour photoshoot (because feed goals duh). But narcism aside, I was just plain happy to have spent this trip with a great friend who I can vent out all my frustrations in life with. It's nice to be able to talk to someone who listens and in a way kind of understands. Like therapy in a way. Our getaway was simple but meaningful because it was definitely what we needed. And Crystal Beach was everything I imagined it to be. Perfect for the chill vibes and relaxation.
