Lavard 35
"Running out in the middle of the night to get a food item they're craving"
"Babe." Came Lavie's voice. Ardou had just laid his head down after finishing up some notes on a project. She had that tone. That tone that rang with the promise of frustration and adventure all in one.
He gulped before answering. "...yes?"
She got up and leaned over his shoulder. "I need cherry pie."
He cracks a grin, "Is that a euphemism?"
"Usually, but not tonight. I need Cherry pie. Right now." She was quite serious.
"So I assume you want me to go down to food-replocopier and make some." He grumbled, getting snuggly.
Then she said it and he knew he would not know sleep this night.
"No, I need a specific pie."
"What pie?" He sat up, rubbing his face.
"The Cherry Pie from Ruby's Diner on Route 412 outside of Helena, Montana, America, Earth, Delta Dimension."
He looked down at her broken leg. She looked up at him with her big kitten eyes. Obviously SHE wasn't going to go get it.

The door to Ruby's Diner swung open at 2:34 AM. An 8 foot tall Lizardman in a winter coat, purple scarf and boots stomped up to the counter. The few truckers that were in there ran for the other entrance, screaming their heads off. Ruby herself was shaking in her pumps as he walked up to the counter and slapped 30 american dollars, newly replicated, onto the counter. "Two Cherry pies please." He grumbled.
She just gaped up at him, mouth open.
"Oh, Lavie sent me." He remembered to say.
That seemed to snap her out of her state of shock. "L-Lavie? The little manic mechanic?"
"Yeah, that's her. She's my girlfriend and we broke her leg doing- erm! -That's not important. -POINT IS she's not feeling well and assures me that your pie is some sort of 'magic' that'll help her." He manages to stutter out.
Ruby understands and smiles warmly. "Oooh. I see. Here." She boxes up the pies from under the display and slides them over. "So, you two are dating?"
Ardou smiles, a terrifying thing for the unfamiliar to him. "Yeah, hopefully more soon." He looks over his shoulder and fishes out a purple ringbox, opening it to show it off. "Do you think she'll like it?"
"I've known that girl her whole life. And my advice? Get a recessed gem. Girl like that runs around a mile a minute and its gonna snag and take her whole finger off."
He looks at the cut amethyst sticking up in the traditional way. "You're so right! Thank you! I can't believe I didn't think of that!" He sticks it back in his pocket. "I'll get it fixed, thanks so much!" He was about to leave, going for the door.
"Uh, hon? Your pie?"
"RIGHT!" He grabbed the boxes awkwardly.
"And whatever you do, don't stick it in food! You KNOW that girl will swallow it whole!"
"Drat, I'll have to think of something else!" He snapped his fingers and laughed.
He left and the doors chimed as he let them close behind him. He summoned a glowing green portal and disappeared off the face of the planet.
"Poor guy. Gonna get eaten alive by that gal." Ruby chuckled.

Soon they were back comfortably in bed, snuggled up with pie and a musical.
Lavie leaned on his chest, craving satisfied. "Thank you. I love you babe." She sighed, content.
"I love you too. To the moon and back." He kissed her head. The ring was safely put away in a drawer. Someday soon. Maybe they'd have pie at their wedding.
