“One likes to think there’s something in it, that old platitude amor vincit omnia. But if I’ve learned one thing in my short sad life, it is that that particular platitude is a lie. Love doesn’t conquer everything. And whoever thinks it does is a fool”
-Donna Tartt, The Secret History
“That’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool”
-Allegedly F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
Well I’m a girl and I am a beautiful little fool, because I believe wholeheartedly that love does conquer all. How can it not when I’ve conquered all the challenges I’ve faced and I still remain full of love? All the love I’ve shown. All the love that is returned to me through my cat's soft, strong purrs as it lays beside me. The love that is shown to me every day by the cells within me, fighting to keep me alive. I’m a fool and a lover, and I’ve conquered all.
