hot take: lawlight’s age gap isn’t that problematic in the context of the show.

BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER THERE ARE BRIEF MENTIONS OF GROOMING.

I mean L and Light are literally intellectual equals to each other and there’s no power dynamics for it to be concerning. L and Light are also not mentally okay people like at all, why are there ages the most taboo thing about them when L has violated Light’s privacy countless times and Light is just obsessed with LITERALLY killing L. if it was like for example, in sk8 the infinity, where Langa is 17 (around Light’s age), who is clueless about Adam’s creepy behavior (who is 26, around L’s age), then yes that would be extremely concerning because Langa isn’t consenting to anything, and even if he did, he would still be the victim of grooming. Langa is a normal teenage boy, while Light is not. Not to mention Langa is still alive and a minor in the sk8 the infinity universe and so is unfortunately Adam, while L and Light have been dead and died at close ages to each other.

That being said, I know other people have different boundaries towards their ships. And some people genuinely just don’t like toxic or complex ships like lawlight, which is completely fine. But it’s the fact that people are THIS pressed about this issue towards two dead fictional characters who were literally CLEARLY obsessed with each other bugs me. Y’all would eat lawlight up if it wasn’t 7 years. “B-b-but they’re toxic!” And then they ship fucking alien stage ships…🫩
