Lawson's Big Hazy IPA (Picked up at Whole Foods in Plymouth Meeting, PA). A 3 of 4. The orange addition is quite present throughout and dominates a bit -- some nice tropical fruit in the nose pokes out, but there's a lot of orange juice character throughout. Some nice pith-like bitterness in the finish, and quite tasty -- hides the 9.2% quite well.
It seems like just yesterday that I was drinking one of these to commemorate the beginning of summer vacation. Now here I am drinking one to mourn the end.
There is Osomatsu-san chicken nuggets at Lawson's right now. I don't know why.
Lawson's Finest Liquids Kiwi IPA - Other beer from last night's Farmhouse visit (plus yummy food pictures). This DIPA was good, but not on the same level as the two from Hill Farmstead.
Lawson’s Hazy Rays IPA (Picked up at McCaffrey’s in Blue Bell, PA). A 3 of 4. A ton of bright orange citrus in the nose -- quite juicy. Drinks much the same in the body and on the sweeter/juicier side of things. Only a slight citrus acid and bitterness in the finish helps cut through things, and the citrus lingers on the palate.
Lawson’s Hopcelot IPA (Picked up at McCaffrey’s in Blue Bell, PA). A 4 of 4. Really appreciate the heavy presence of pine/resin and some herbal notes in this. Quite dry with a firm bitterness in the finish, and very drinkable. Some tropical fruit becomes more prominent as this warms a bit, but this hop profile is a nice change of pace, and the medium body carries it all quite well.
Lawson’s Sip of Sunshine IPA (Picked up at Bauer Wine & Spirits in Boston). A 3 of 4. A nice 2-week old can, and this has a nice bright floral and citrus hop profile in the nose. Some decently powerful bitterness in the body, and has some nice balancing sweetness mid-body. This is pretty great, but honestly I’ve had much better in the style.
