Samsung Galaxy Tab A sketches in Layer Paint HD
While trying out the Android app Layer Paint HD, I noticed that it saves to .mdp files! .mdp could be a nice format for tablet art: it supports layers, and the files are much smaller than .psd.
It’s also the native format for several popular desktop apps: MediaBang Paint,FireAlpaca, and ComiLabo/MangaLabo, so it looks like you could work on the same project—using the same files—at home or away.
Update: …except you can’t. It turns out that:
CL/ML can open .mdp files saved by LPHD, but:
LPHD will hang if it tries to open an .mdp file that has been saved by CL/ML.
I haven’t tested files made in MB or FA.
More Android Tablet Art I'm still not used to drawing armor. So here's the fencer in contemporary casual clothes. Plus I might be using grass owls as his companions instead of eagle owls that I originally intended. Is it weird to wear a dress shirt, tie and vest in combination with a hoodie? It's nice to draw on a gnote 10.1, but I want to make printed work soon.
Galaxy Note Doodle: Black Goldfish
I might do more of these. Work just got more time consuming. I might not play games and I'll have to sleep earlier than usual. It makes be all blue. Maybe drawing a tiny black goldfish will cheer me up.
this was a Halloween costume w.i.t.c.h contest entry. even though i uploaded six hours before the deadline...it didn't get excepted cus i didn't post a comment.
since i have no longer a purpose for it to be on deviantart i shall share it here (a like is really appreciated)
WIP of a commission i’m working on. i do a lot of my line art and base coloring on my samsung galaxy note 10.1. i'm not sure why, but it's easier on this tablet than on my computer with my wacom tablet. \o_O/
"you've picked up her crown and now you've put it down."
three hour speed paint.
pretty confident today i may wrap up the anonymous commission! we'll see if i, myself, stop being so picky about color schemes here. anway, i want to show you guys a great app for the android (not sure if it's out on the apple ipads, sorry). it's called "handy", 3D art tool that you can rotate for a variety of poses. i chose the color scheme here based on my selection for this pic after massive tweaking. the only draw back is this is one of the apps you can't exactly work in multi window, so i took a screen cap of two head refs here for lighting and took it from there.
super cool, i totally recommend it. you guys are inspiring me to make a list of recs when it comes to the android tablets, so stay tuned for that!
