I think that gen AI bros don’t understand that for artists, the process of making art is just as or even more important than the finished product. “You can have a machine do that fun hobby that you enjoy for you and get the end result with none of the excitement or satisfaction of the process” is not the selling point that they seem to think it is.

Hello! This isn’t really a question question, but like. Do you use Google Docs? If so, I just found out that Google Docs uses your work to train AI and my first thought was you.

I am not even SURE you use Google Docs but I’m just telling you 😭

Yeah, I'm aware that Google Docs are likely training AI on people's documents. I use it about 15% of the time. I'll make a new document and paste my notes/unfinished work for the latest chapter so I can look over it on Sunday while I go to church with my family. (Still attend for their sake, you know?)

Btw, Microsoft Word and Adobe software are training AI on their costumers' work. I have canceled my subscriptions to both Word and Photoshop this last year because of this. I'm not paying 10 to 20 bucks a month just for my shit to be stolen.

I use Scrivener for all of my writing. Highly recommend, plus it's just a one time payment.

I'm ambivalent to AI at this point. There's very little I can do to prevent my words from being used to train AI. It's why my work isn't locked from the public. I purposely do that. I'd rather people enjoy my work than be worried about AI. AO3 has done a really good job with going after companies that scrape the website.

And folks who accuse writers of using AI because they know how to use em dashes and semi colors need to go back to high school and learn proper grammar/punctuation. 🙄

if someone says they don’t have time to do something, when it’s just an EXCUSE by them to get away with doing whatever that needed to be done or said, etc. 

people have all the fucking time in the world to stuff, they just don’t want to so they make up excuses to get out of the situation at hand. 

if someone says “i’m too busy to get back to you” while in a message or face to face about something, they’re full of shit because you can’t be busy for hours and hours and they just don’t wanna deal with you or the situation. people HAVE THE TIME to talk to you or do what needs done. (it only takes a few minutes IF THAT do get back to someone on something no matter what it is)......

PEOPLE JUST WANT TO MAKE EXCUSES PERIOD TO GET OUT OF A RESPONSE OR ACTION from others. i hate liars
