I've read the fic but I still don't understand Bai He's powers and abilties. Could you explain them to me?

If you watch the LBD vs. Sun Wukong fight, you'll get a very good idea of what she's capable of.

But she can control those bone-shard- ice thingies, make those chain things, get into people's heads if she wants to, control the Mayor as much as she likes, etc.

I'm not very sure how to describe it either, sorry! :'3

Since Bai He lost her powers in your AU? How will she fight and contribute to the Monkie Gang now?

She can still fight hand-to-hand, she's still being taught martial arts, and I like to think Macaque started to teach her shadow magic after the fact.

And even if she didn't want to fight anymore, she could very well do that. If Bai He suddendly decided she wanted to live the rest of her days a simple, spoiled, harmless little girl scampering around FFM, she could (Macaque might be slightly dissapointed, but it would be pretty uncharacteristic to expect something like that from her).

Shadow magic is a slow process, though!

How is Bai He able to turn Mayor into a lion? How does it work? Do you think I could get an in-depth explanation of that and how it works? What is the relationship between Bai He and Mayor in your AU?

I honestly didn't build much depth into her powers themselves, I just tried to stick to cannon. But basically, Mayor is a doll, a puppet, as we can see from the show itself. He is play dough and he does not give a flying damn about it, he's happy to "follow his Lady's instructions" and let her do whatever the hell she pleases with him.

With the ammount of power coursing through him, Bai He can change his physical form however she pleases, and Macaque encourages her to do use him as a living test mannequin. I also doubt Mayor would be opposed to anything she wants.

Bai He, as a lovable and caring little girl, sees him as a beloved pet, as a friend. She can't exactly grasp the thought of using Mayor as a weapon, because if you ask her, Mayor is just her best bud. LBD may have needed a soldier, a puppet, a loyal dog, but Bai He just wants her cat.

After the whole Land of The Dead encounter, I think Mayor finally realises that this isn't his lady. This is just her old hostess who inherited her powers for a bit and then lost them. I think the only reason he sticks around after that is because Bai He is the only person who treats him well and, in a way, she's all that's left of LBD.

The events of "You're Your Father's Daughter" seem to come into play and continue after the events of Monkie Kid season 4. Where would Bai He be during the events of season 5?

Yeah, the timeline is a bit confusing. I planned and started to write the story right after s3 and before s4 was announced, so when the episodes came out, I wanted to incorporate some stuff into the story as well to make a parallel between Bai He and MK.

I haven't watched s5 yet, as I like to wait for the specials before watching the seasons, but what I can say is that Bai He would certaintly be a bit distressed by Wukong having the circlet again. (Macaque would also encourage her to punch the Snake Guy™️ in his face.)

Also, I really, really want to write Bai He interacting with the Camel Ridge Trio! Especially Azure!
