‘bobnweaver’ has taken this excellent video footage of locomotives at the ‘Great Shildon Shed Bash’, which includes a glimpse of the current condition of our J21, No. 65033
A view of LNER J21 class 0-6-0 No. 65033 in the workshops at Locomotion, Shildon back in 2011. Since this time it has had a cosmetic restoration, but needs a full overhaul before it can steam again. See our website at www.lclt.org.uk for details of how you can help!
7th October news update
7th October was a really important day for the LNER J21class 0-6-0; it was the Formal Review of our bid at the Heritage Lottery Fund HQ for the North West region. This took the form of a 3-hour long very thorough grilling, examining every aspect of our bid: funding, governance, partnership, and the roles of the various team members during and after the locomotive’s restoration. At the end of it the overall feeling was extremely positive, with us on track to finally submit our Stage 2 bid by 28th November. Unfortunately, assuming we make that deadline, we will have to wait until February 2017 to find out we’ve been successful and get restoration started in earnest.
