buffy can’t remember the last time she’s made such a fuss over herself. primping and prepping since the moment she accepted kell’s invitation. all the girly things she used to love to do. then again it’s been a while since she’s been on an actual date as well. a normal date with no slayer-ference. or, she hopes, that’s how today will go. because if a vampire DARE pop up and spoil her fun, buffy will make sure it rues the day it decided to crawl out of it’s grave.
“that one. the big, circle-y one over there,” buffy chirps, pointing at the ferris wheel. “used to be my absolute favorite. — oh! that one too.” pointing out the tilt-a-whirl. her voice raising slightly higher with delight to see all these rides from her childhood. in her excitement, and without second thought, she takes kell’s hand and pulls him closer to the rides. “are you afraid of heights?” she asks, turning to face him. her smile faltering for a second as she realizes how peculiar her enthusiasm must seem over such childish games. she let’s go of his hand, with reluctance, and bashfully uses it to tuck a stray strand of blonde hair behind her ear. @lcstbcys
