Story: Arrival and Feast

Main

Separate underground train stop for mages, not a secret platform

Paige gets a lot of stares and weird attention, but eventually finds solace in a small car with Sean and Hermes

When we arrive, Tam and Will wander off to walk the grounds before the selection and feast. They have a good talk. Then, suddenly, a huge boat emerges from the lake. Carriages pulled by pegasi arrive from the sky. Many other schools are suddenly represented by many other means. And most important for our story, a Zeppelin from Boston opens its bay doors to a gaggle of girls in US flag parachutes. One of them is Holland.

They all came for two reasons. First, they wanted to see The Survivor, especially for the Sorting. Second, they are restarting the Polymage Proving. So only students who are eligible to compete have traveled here.

The Sorting isn't terribly interesting, but Hermes, Sean, and Paige all get sorted into Cygnus. Much applause from within the house and good natured honks from the rest.

Nicholas Flamel, headmaster of Eldeems, gives a rather deranged speech (like usual), encouraging all brave and skilled 5+ year students to apply for the PP. "You have nothing to lose except your loves, your pride, and maybe some body parts that we can regrow." Both Tam and Will apply. When Tam goes up to the Flame Chalice, Holland goes too, and when they lock eyes they arrange to meet up after the feast.

Feast.

Tam gives Holland a proper tour of the castle and they talk about everything they can until she has to go for curfew. I don't think anything really significant happens.

Lopez Digital Media Series: The Power of the Image featuring Cholo Laurel (November 2013)

For this episode of the Lopez Digital Media Series, I took on a role that I rarely handle in any of my production work. I was in charge of coordinating with filmmaker and director Cholo Laurel for the content and scheduling of his shoot regarding the power of the image and his experience in photography. Aside from his pleasing personality and his insightful perception of the world, conversing with him made me realize that, in the world of media, people get excited to work with you if your name is "Drama", haha. But in all seriousness, as someone who wants to jump into a career in reality television and documentaries, I gained a lot from his ideas on capturing real life.
