I haven't posted in 2 weeks since I've been away on vacation. First it was Latin convention and then it was Toronto. Both of them were awesome (yayyyy Latin kids) for different reasons.
Nationals: I really am disappointed that I only got to attend one national convention. I can't even describe why it was so special....just, good friends, good times taking 4 tests a day (go SAT style testing!), bad sleeping quarters/food, great memories. I'm going to miss my Latin family so much. Wish I had started that sooner too...can't believe I spent two years in Spanish. Gah, Latin (as a class and high school experience) was so much better.
Toronto: Niagara Falls, you are really pretty. And the Canadians are so nice. We had one taxi driver try to tell us that he wasn't charging us full cost of the ride because we said "Maple Leaf Square, Union Station" and he tried to drop us off on the wrong entrance of Union Station, and another tell us to forget gratuity and change because of traffic. Like traffic was really his fault. And he apologized for it many times.
Also, this hotel was so wonderful! Le Germain is now one of my favorite hotels. I like it significantly better than the Waldorf Astoria in NYC (decor in the Waldorf is luxurious but old, Le Germain is very modern) and only slightly less than the Benjamin (also in NYC). The Wynn in Las Vegas was about the same quality. The room we had was about 650 sqft, and a good chunk of that was the bathroom which stretched the length of the room. And it wasn't horribly expensive either. Also, free breakfast, tea/coffee all day or night long, apples, and wifi. I think my absolute favorite part (besides the wifi) was the Molton Brown bath set.
