Morty went down pretty easily. Granted, that Gengar of his was a nasty brute. Fast, too. Hit lvl 28 Chomper with Shadow Ball and nearly KOd him without the crit. Thank Arceus for bite.

The real challenge proved to be the Red Gyarados at the Lake of Rage. A lvl 30 beast that utterly refused to be caught. Used up every ultra ball, heavy ball, love ball, great ball; everything I had while it was at 1 HP and paralyzed. Not even close to being caught. Had to kill it before it killed us.

Made way to Team Rocket’s secret underground base to fight my way through.... lvl 16 Rattata. Seriously, Team Rocket are such pushovers in this game. Lance the Dragon Master (Champion) made his debut, and the animation for Fly looks wicked! Worried for a second when Le Suck showed up, but thankfully remembered Lance beats the snot out of him before he finds me. Man, Nuzlocke, you really add tension to this game. Chomper evolved into Feraligatr right before Rocket Executive battle. Thorsday should be coming up soon!

Low on supplies (especially pokeballs) so it’s time to begin a trek to Goldenrod for fresh water and soda pop, then to fight Bryce! Who I swore was the second to last gym leader, but oh well!

No more.

Take my Togepi, break my heart. Take my Nidorino, break my hopes. Take my Zubat, break my spirit. TAKE MY PIDGEOTTO, TASTE MY WRATH!

So Le Suck ambushed me yet again, this time in the Burned Tower of Ecruteak City. Again, these damn power fluctuations irritate the hell out of me. Literally in the same town I beat down a Rocket Grunt with a lvl 12 pokemon. Then Le Suck brings his team of 4 lvl 20-22 pokemon. Chomper bit Gastly, somehow. Luffy struggled a while against the Magnemite. Okay, eh struggled with being confused and not beating himself upside the face. But Bayleef was the big problem. Ace still hasn’t learned another flying-type move since gust. No aerial ace, no Fly, nada. Bayleef has crazy defense, synthesis keeps healing it, and it poisoned Ace over and over. But after literally 12 gusts, he finally wore it down to one hit from death. With health low, I took no chances of it getting in first and used quick attack! The damn thing survived with 1 HP and murdered Ace. Chomper ripped out its throat with ice fang. Thorsday fried his Zubat (remind me of what I’ve lost why don’t you!)

No more losing friends. I’m going to keep a tight-knit team of only the strongest and train them until they can beat Goku. Chomper, Thorsday, Luffy; they will destroy all who stand before them.

Got surprised by Le Suck going into Ilex Forest. Had no idea I’d been slacking off training my team. His pokemon were all higher than mine. Hero of the Day was.... ZUMBA! lvl 11 Zumba took out lvl 14 Gastly and combined with lvl 13 Ace took out his beast of a lvl 18 Bayleef. Army crushed his lvl 16 Zubat. This team deserves praise, healing, and then a hell of a training session.

So.... this sucks. After 4 hours of playing, catching a Weedle (The Weez, in honor of Team Four Star’s Nuzlocke which inspired me to start mine), a Bellsprout (Whiplash) traded for an Onix (Rocky, no choice with that name sadly), a Geodude (Minerbro), an Unown (Mr. E) and an Ekans (Evans), I discovered that because my game was bought used, I couldn’t save over the other file. So I had to abandon my quest, delete the old file, and start anew.

Needless to say, quite pissed.

So this is effectively a new start. Trainer ID ended in 9, so this time is Totodile.
