I was binge watching the second season of Four More Shots Please & Le15 Cafe features in one of the episodes & I had made up my mind that I will go back there once the lockdown is released due to the sheer nostalgia of being in Colaba. @foodie_baba had taken @pp_fullon & I last year & made us try one of his favourite dishes, the pulled pork open burger in a Chorizo sauce with a keto friendly almond bun, sliced tomatoes & Kale Crisps, possibly a @chefpablonaranjo creation. You couldn't really complain much with that as it had all the check boxes ticked for what a millenial might like. We also ended up eating a decadent Salted Caramel & Chocolate Tart. Even before going to the Colaba outlet, I would often pick up a nibble or two on one of my evening loitering exercises in Pali Hill & end up gobbling a salted caramel choux pastry or the lovely mango truffle. They were just right sized Petit fours which you could pop in without feeling too much of a guilt. The queen of Macarons that often @poojadhingra is referred to as , you can't resist them & that is why I had packed these wonderful passion fruit, mango & the oceanic swirl ones ( can't remember the flavor now ) at their Colaba outlet for my friend @pritipaliwal1 Unfortunately in my hurry to catch the local in an excruciatingly humid evening , where we we were soaked to our shirts, I forgot it at the outlet. The next day I remembered & asked them whether I could collect from their Bandra outlet. They said it could be a billing issue but still were kind enough to do that & I collected from there after our srilankan lunch in Hoppum. Today much to my consternation I discovered that Pooja has shut her cafe due to the COVID-19 crisis. I wonder whether this is the harbinger for the coming times. P.S A Classic French Macaron is made of Almond meal egg whites & sugar. Tuticorin/ Mangaluru macaroons is made of Cashew nuts, egg whites & sugar looking more like meringues.
