assassins on the buckwheat
Leafhopper Assassin Bug wondering what I’m up to. Eventually he let me move him to the safety of some wild sage.

Found this little dude crawling up my leg, took me by surprise in late January :) What kind of gentleman is this?
Location for ID in second ask for privacy
A friend and a pal! Looks like a leafhopper assassin bug, Zelus renardii. Well. I suppose a friend and a pal only if you are not a leafhopper
I found a friend in southwest Tennessee!
A child!! Looks like a leafhopper assassin bug nymph :)
@shrike submitted: i think tumblr ate this the first time i tried to submit- but here are some fun guys i saw recently :-) spotted in central california!
I only got it once so yes it must have! These friends are all extremely good but I especially love what is possibly the world’s fattest harvestman. And that cute lil roach!! Too precious…
@sillymedoingsillythings submitted: Hallo! Long time bug lover, first submit. I found this lovely lil friend in Dallas, TX and figured you might appreciate a pic. I think assassin bug but would love a confirm or correction. Cheers!
A precious little friend! It is indeed an assassin bug, specifically one in the genus Zelus, probably a leafhopper assassin bug :)
Hello again! Curious about the ID of these 3. The little maggoty things came out of some rose hips... I think the eggs might be some type of assassin bug but not sure. If so I'm excited to have them in my garden! Location is southern California
Hi! I'd guess some sort of wasp larvae that came out of the rose hips but I couldn't say which one. RIP to the fly the assassin bug is eating! Possibly a leafhopper assassin but I'd need a better look at its markings to be sure. And yes the eggs are most likely assassin bug eggs! Maybe in the genus Zelus. :)
@weirdo-with-a-nametag submitted: Hello I would like to share more bugs!!
My very first assassin bug ever (that I recognized as one, at least)!! Very exciting! And it was thanks to your blog, actually, I aw a post about one and then a few days later encountered this buddy! A leafhopper assassin bug, maybe?
And this friend, on the leaf of a fuzzy spiderwort - I think a chrysanthemum lace bug? Or perhaps another.
Northwest Oregon, do you think these are the right IDs?
Also a very nice yellow sac spider - she was quite calm while being moved outside!
Hello! I am happy to view more bugs. Yes, the first is a leafhopper assassin bug. Way to go IDing your first assassin bug! I would say the lacebug is at least in Corythuca, although couldn’t confirm it’s for sure a chrysanthemum lace bug. Surprised you even managed photos that clear considering how tiny they are. Love the lil yellow sac friend as well! Thanks for sharing again!
