Found this little dude crawling up my leg, took me by surprise in late January :) What kind of gentleman is this?

A friend and a pal! Looks like a leafhopper assassin bug, Zelus renardii. Well. I suppose a friend and a pal only if you are not a leafhopper

That unidentified harvestman with the grabby arms has me wondering, are harvestman spiders and the tailless whip scorpions closely related?

Bonus story I was rock climbing last week and tucked myself into a little hole in the wall to rest and was greeted by like 5 harvestmen crawling on me lol, it startled me but thanks in large part to this blog I wasn’t too bothered and just brushed them off!

Then I looked up and there were probably like a thousand more on the ceiling of said hole and I got the heebie jeebies and moved out of their house - they were very nice and had good stripes!!

They are both arachnids but otherwise are not terribly closely related - I think tailless whipscorpions are more closely related to spiders than to harvestmen if I recall correctly.

Anyhoo yes a lot of harvestmen have a tendency to gather in groups! Which can look spooky but they are of course harmless :)
