One of the biggest lessons I've learnt on "my fitness journey" (🤮)is that what you put into your body is a lot more important than what you do with it! A few years ago I became 𝘰𝘣𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 with training. I would get up early every morning & do at least 20-minutes on the bike, before getting ready to head to work • I easily exceeded 10000 steps a day, trained for a few hours every evening, cut out carbs and my goal was to essentially eat as little as possible. I guess it "worked". At the time my goal was 100% weight loss based, I thought skinny = better & I hit my lowest weight (54.4kg). But I was hungry 𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 (even though I said I wasn't), I used caffeine as a crutch to fuel me through my days and I would skip social events and occasions so that I could stay in 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭. What I understand now that I didn't back then is that the most important step when wanting to lose fat / build muscle is to focus on nutrition • What you eat 𝗖𝗔𝗡 & 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 make all the difference. If you combine nutrition and fitness, the results will be even better! Eating in a calorie deficit, but choosing nutritious foods will help you shed those unwanted pounds in a 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛𝗬 & 𝗦𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 way. These days I train 3-times a week for about 60-minutes, do about 7000 steps a day and 𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗔 𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗘𝗡 • I was lucky that circumstances in my life changed which meant that I changed my training habits and, although the pounds piled back on, I started to use fitness for more than the physical results. Who here has done a restrictive diet, lost weight but soon gained most or all back when you stopped?
