Stichomancy 101
im bored, i should be drawing, but im not. So let’s teach one of my favorite ways of divination, stichomancy! (the fun part of it is that is really discrete so you don’t have to spread a huge shit of tarot cards, you’re welcome secret witches xd)
What is stichomancy? What is the difference from Bibliomancy?
Stichomancy is one of the oldest ways of divination (at least 3000 years old), is basically grabbing a book and opening it, the first verse/line/whatever that you read is what answers your question.
Actually, they are REALLY similar, but mainly bibliomancy is done with sacred books, stichomancy is with any book you want. The thing is that if you look, they are synonyms of each other too.
Advantages
It is a really easy, inexpensive, and effective way of divination. If you wanna ask something and like don’t know how to read tarot, or can’t because of x reason... well just open a book!
Disadvantages
The answer it may not be as clear as others. Like if you ask a yer/no question to the pendulum it will be easy, but in this type of divination you have to actually think to figure out the answer.
How to do it
This couldn’t be easier, first protect yourself with a circle or smth because protection is the most important thing ever ;-; thengrab a book... i’ll grab wait 1984 by George Owell. Ask a question, mine will be “should i study for math more” because as we know.. i suck at math, and now we open the book,
“The whole literature of past will have been destroyed.” pag 53
Now we figure it out, im not figuring out mine rn because i gotta study and is not that easy for me, and bam you have your reading.... you’re welcome. Actually i assume that is a “damn study or you will fail” but whateveeeer.
Tips
Reading the future with books... mm i think it’s kinda better moer to ask for advice. First it will be way easier to know what the message they are trying to give means, and second, it would make more sense. Tho if you wanna try asking for the future, it’s okay, your craft!
Also choose a book you connect with, don’t choose the book you most hate because ;-; like damn your relationship with it is not so good...
You may ask the same question 100 times until you feel THAT’S the answer, don’t go all dramatic because you don’t understand, just try again!
Practice makes the master, just as tarot or other ways of divination, keep practicing!
